The Ricochet Conspiracy

Here in Hillsdale, had dinner with Paul Rahe. Saw Pat Sajak this afternoon as he was passing through the school. Mark Steyn arrives this week too. I wonder if we are getting ready to run up the Jolly Roger.

Re: The Ricochet Conspiracy
What good is it to infiltrate your covert operatives if you're only going to publish their names? Really, what has spycraft come to these days?

Run up the flag boys !
It will be good to see that fluttering atop what sounds like Olympus . Rarefied chilled air, and how far from Wisconsin ? Metaphors save travel time and money. Tell us how it ends.

When you guys all troop out to the firing range together, I'll take you seriously.
Re: The Ricochet Conspiracy
Funny thing that you mention the Jolly Roger. The students associate that flag with our president Larry Arnn -- whose name they pronounce Arrrhn!

You really need to post a pic of Steyn with an eye patch and a parrot on his shoulder.

Re: The Ricochet Conspiracy
There comes a time in each man's life when he must raise the black flag and start slitting throats. Avast!
Which is why a podcast Talk Like a Pirate segment is now up there on the wish list with a Mystery Science riff of an Obama press conference.
And dear Lord, if EJ doesn't provide a photoshop, I'll be disappointed.
Re: The Ricochet Conspiracy
Surely the odds of so many Ricochet contributors meeting at a college two hours away from Detroit are great. Unless there is some great power pulling the strings...
It reminds me of one of the great scams that the CIA successfully pulled off in Afghanistan: they distributed letters letting recipients where to meet in the event they had to be evacuated, and gave a signal. You can imagine what happened when news got out. Everyone was trying to find out if everyone else had received such a letter. And imagine what it felt like for those who hadn't.

Regular as Metamucil. This whole thread has been begging for an EJ post.
Sadly unable to post a Cartman-in-Somalia clip, but it is fitting that the request was from (drum roll) The Great Adventure!

Was that the picture that accompanied his article "Civilization walking the plank"?

I loved the pic. Just knowing you would weigh in on this of all threads.

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:
"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.

Yes. And then, those of us who are sane recall that throat slitting tends to become mutual.
