Today we're introducing a new feature for members.  It's called the "Ricochet Center of Gravity Poll," and it's a way for us to get a snapshot of what our members are thinking -- and predicting, and hoping for -- in the months to come.

The idea is that we've got a great cross-section of members, representing most of the various kinds of conservatives out there.  Our members are thoughtful, engaged, practical, and very politically sophisticated, so what they think is a great way to know where the center of gravity is for conservatives across the country.

The rest of the media loves to tell conservatives what they're supposed to think.  This is a way for us to tell them what we really do think.

So click over to the Member Feed and take the poll.  We'll be posting results in 24 hours, and we'll be doing another sample both before and right after the next Republican debate.

Oh, and side bets are definitely encouraged!

That's the way the polls work in Chicago. It's so much more efficient to count the votes before election day.

My message read:

"Vote closed. Because a neutrino that moves faster than light has recently been discovered, we already knew what you were thinking last week. President Hillary Clinton's inaugural team thanks you for your thoughtful consideration."

Boy, the Dems start talking about suspending democracy, and it just happens!

I guess there's nothing for us to do but to surrender.

I think Rob just trolled his own website with a fake poll.

Blue Yeti

My fault, not Rob's. The expiration date was set incorrectly. It's fixed now...vote away!

Polls closed within 30 minutes. This must be a version of the Rush Limbaugh "60-second sale" parody.

Hey! I'm Canadian, so what's your position on foreigners voting. This could skew results could it not? I haven't yet voted, and will abide by your choice.

Canadian votes are welcome as an offset from all the Mexican votes that the admin is whoring for.

She who cannot be named isn't on your ballot, since she has not yet declared her intentions, but my vote is for Herman Cain as VP and SWCNBN as his boss and compatriot in the undoing of the statist political system that has America in it's thrall.

Not since Teddy and Woodrow has there been the possibility that the progressive statist movement can be challenged.  The Republican party has long been a collaborator with the statists, and there is no inside the beltway voice willing to oppose the status quo.

I didn’t know how to interpret this question:

Would you consider yourself open to any of the candidates running on the Republican side?

Does it mean, I wonder, “Is there at least one candidate on the Republican side you are open to?” or does it mean “Given any randomly selected Republican candidate, are you open to voting for that candidate in the general election? Any of the candidates is fine. Whichever.”

I would have liked a "or did the debates increase the ardor of your hope that someone else jumps in"?

I had the same question as SMatthew Stolte. Voted anyway. Answers were about 50-50 even with those dad gum fur'ners mucking up the vote.
