The Priceless Nigel Farage

While European bureaucrats and bankers hastily rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, and pass around fake money like drunks pass bourbon at 3 A.M., one voice has been consistent, honest and clear.
Maybe there is hope for Britain.

Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
The title of the video ("The Genius of Mutual Indebtedness") says it all. Broke countries can't bail out broke countries. And we're all broke.
Western civilization is doomed. The best our politicians even discuss is some nibbling at the edges.

Thank you for sharing.
I have been saying the same thing since 1994 - but of course, nobody cared then, and astonishingly few people even seem to care now. They are just enjoying the ride.

Move over Winston Churchill, there's a new bloke on the block. Talk about spine, guts, and integrity! He's been there for ten years, warning, castigating, and pleading. The price he's paid has been high, but a great reward lies ahead for him.
Good show and sterling words, sir!

James needs to get Nigel Farage and Daniel Hannan together on a podcast. I would love to hear those two together in a conversation.

National governments. Texas will be fine... after a fashion.

I'm watching FOX News right now while Ben Stein is talking up the IMF as if it existed beyond national economies. Where do these morons think the IMF gets its money?

The guy with his arm over the back of the seats is the leading Socialist spokesman and I should imagine he is the guy doing the shouting (he usually does).
Check out the body language at the end of the video being displayed by the Socialist group. I think daylight might be breaking and they don't like it.

Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
The most dangerous thing about the amusement park formerly known as the Eurozone is the lack of credible reorganization experience in the major players.
Up until this point, the Merkels and Sarvozy's of the world have been the kind of people that have done well for themselves. They are what the world calls successful.
The trouble with successful people is that they have a hard time knowing when they are wrong. They're not used to it. It's why smart people don't make good traders - they are not used to admitting they are wrong.
They need to get some hard core, Chapter 11 reorg experts in there now. It may be too late but there is an art to tanking a company that can no longer pay its bills.
As it is, this gang impairs assets with every move they make.

There is a frightening and unflagging opinion out there that says this whole bailout thing will work.
A belief in the power of the printing press, I guess.
Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
It really didn't help Bankia to have a company HQ that literally looked as if it needed propping up from the start:
To be fair, there's two of them, so they balance each other out, and Bankia didn't build them. They bought them when the previous owner . . . went bankrupt.

Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
The problem at its root is demographic. Too few younger workers trying to support too many retirees. As such the only solution must be generational in scope. The approach thus far is to patch the cracks because politicians can't think beyond the next election. Eventually the dam will burst and the resulting flood will sweep away the entire creaking edifice of European civilization. The question is now when, not if. We'll be lucky if the world economy doesn't suffer a depression that rivals the Great Depression of the 1930's. Keep your powder dry, folks. The day of reckoning draws nigh.

Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
Nigel Farage is showing you what it would be like to have Rick Santelli on the floor of the US Senate ripping and mocking the clown show that goes on there lately.
Also, leave it up to James Lileks to find the bizarre building involved here. His website is a candy store of unfortunate choices in design.

Re: The Priceless Nigel Farage
It's a good time to revisit another of his great speeches to the European Parliament.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gm9q8uabTs (sorry, the url link didn't work to display the video here)
But did anyone there listen? No, because the real agenda of the EP is what in part brought about the severity of the financial crisis. An agenda to destroy the nation-state, destroy democracy, creating a superstate which has set in motion a situation where millions and millions are suffering so that their Euro dream can continue.
And yes, please Mr. Delingpole, do have him on your podcast at your earliest possible convenience.
