I just did a quick run through on the Member feed.  I wish I had the time to comment on each post.  Nonetheless, you can learn more about what's going on, laugh a little, and learn a lot on our little old Member feed than anywhere on the Internet.

Pat the person next to you on the back (in a non-threatening and culturally appropriate manner, taking into account that is some cultures people pat each other on the back with the blade of a knife--sorry, I just can't keep my pro-Western Civilization and crypto-colonialist instincts under control).

You need a government job. Plenty of time to read and comment on anything you like.

Speaking of government jobs...Question:  If we actually manage to decrease the size of government by downsizing some of these federal agencies and just getting rid of some others, where are all of those people going to go to work?  Can we actually do something like that without really creating a mess?

Too funny!

Pat each other on the back, but above the waist line only, in a non suggestive manner, no Bill Clinton lingering with a final squeeze to the arm.

I think it's very important to make sure there are no sound effects, such as a long satisfied "Ahhhhh."

Amy Schley,

I saw your email at instapundit today. I have nephews & nieces trying to find jobs, too.

You know, I completely missed that Glenn published it ... so thank you!

I also started a thread over here posting that too. http://ricochet.com/member-feed/The-Cry-of-My-Generation

TR, you are one of the reasons I enjoy this place so much.  I'm patting you right now.  No exam jokes there either.

More member feed posts need to be moved to the main feed.

The site says that editors will select 2-3 a day for the main feed. That's been honored in its breach, lately. And the ones that have been moved have been about politics, the last time I counted them on the main page.

There were THREE threads about college football last weekend, which I'm told by Mr. Sajak is one of the most conservative programs on the teevee. None of them made the main page. There was a really cool thread about bad cars we've owned, with a ton of comments. It didn't make it, either.

I realize the conventions are underway, but even the Corner is a lot more diverse in its topics than Ricochet. And we especially need to bring the funny. Politics is important, but it's not the end-all be-all in my life, and I don't want it to be.

I find I enjoy the Member Feed a lot.  It's great to chat and bandy about ideas.  I even enjoy that we have disagreements and can discuss the various points for the most part with a measure of civility.  The ability to discover the merits of ideas, to pick them apart and put them back together better than before, all that is invaluable.

I'm too busy these days to generate content, but I appreciate what the other Members create. The Member's Feed is what makes Ricochet like nothing else on the Interwebs.

I don't want the job--just the pension.

Using the Kensyian benifit of the force multiplier idea for additional Government spending, lay off unneeded Federal employees, enmass.

The unemployment benifits they spend would help create a more robust economy by orders of magnitude. Yes ?

Try that on a Liberal that thinks is it a great idea, until it applies to them.

Member feed is great and worth the price of admission alone. Join!

Main Feed is also excellent, and I understand the need to keep the conversation on the Main Feed largely within the realm of the political (although, if you follow Aristotle this realm is rather expansive).

The only complaint I would gently make is that there are occasions on which the same topic ends up on the Main Feed in three or four different posts, and in which the views expressed by the authors are nearly unanimous--this, of course, is the prerogative of the editors, but it might be worth considering whether or not there isn't some mechanism in which, if one post is already addressing the subject reasonably comprehensively, we ought try to have the conversation on that thread, rather than having multiple separate threads addressing exactly the same thing. This might be one way to create space to incorporate other themes from the Member Feed.

Didn't Pelosi state that every $1 of unemployment spent by the government creates $1.25 or something typical liberal "pulling this out of thin air" statistic like that?

That's because the basic principles of economics cease to exist when there is a democrat in the white house.
