The Jewish Qaradawi

That would be Rabbi Dov Lior, who manages to say something vile pretty much every time he opens his mouth. Today he seems to have declared that Gentile sperm passes on traits of cruelty and barbarism.
"I even read in books that sometimes the crime, the difficult traits, the bitterness – a child that comes from these traits, it's no surprise that he won't have the qualities that characterize the people of Israel," he added.
Question: What's the difference between Qaradawi and Lior? Answer: A hundred billion dollars from Saudi Arabia.

Re: The Jewish Qaradawi
Being that I am a vile Gentile, I am not sure, but I thought that being or not being a Jew depended on your mother. Yes? No?

I hope Lior is not following the path of that nut Rabbi Kahane.
Indeed Foxman, for the orthodoxy (until this decision) and many Jews, only the Mother has to be Jewish. The reason I have been informed is to assist single women/Mothers and their resulting children in times of war/rape etc.
I wonder what a DNA test on Lior would show, perhaps some goyische blud somewhere will explain his offensiveness. The less than esteemed Rabbi Lior should be careful, as few have pure bloodlines. The Spanish Hapsburgs were really pure in 1600s, but ended up unable to chew their food. Check out poor Charley II of Spain
Also Claire, Rabbi Lior does not evangelise for new conversions unlike Islam, Christianity, and to a lesser extent Buddhism.

On some level, he and Adolf agree. They just reverse the players.

I was involved with this community for a number of years, and the most important thing I learned (from them) is that simple common sense precedes Torah scholarship.

Ms. Berlinski,
I am of the opinion that your comments are unfair and stem possibly from your own perspective on Judaism. His quote (with a bit more context) from the article that you cited is:
"If the father in not Jewish, what character traits could he have? Traits of cruelty, of barbarism! These are not traits that characterize the people of Israel."
I believe that the pertinent contextual text is "could he have." (I understand that he is citing Jewish exceptionalism, but is this something that you disagree with?)
In addition, at the end of the article Dov Lior opines that a single-parent child will not be 100% normal - this is a common sentiment amongst the Christian Right. Do you disagree with this as well?

Hitler was a big supporter of physical fitness and ardently against smoking. Does this mean that if you are against smoking and in favor of physical fitness you are a NAZI?
