Powerline's John Hinderaker and Fraters Libertas' Brian Ward are back in front of their mics with a new episode and yet another new name, (although we're pretty sure this one is going to stick), and a new logo. This week, they talk about the state of Twins baseball with lawyer and baseball racontuer Clark Griffith, and then switch gears and discuss the Koran burning and events in Afghanistan. And of course, we've got this week's loon and another edition of "This Week in Gatekeeping." All in all, another very entertaining hour from the boys up north.

On a mobile device? Good news: The Hinderaker-Ward Experience is now carried on Stitcher. You can also use this direct link

I have tried with each Hinderaker-Ward podcast to listen through, but cannot.  Consider this a critical comment, intended to provide member feedback, and not intended to insult or get personal with the gentlemen.

Frankly, I very much enjoy John Hinderaker's written posts.

I listened to the podcast of their "First Team" radio show for years - can't have missed more then a handful - ever since they opened with the line "We are the wind beneath the right wing".

I think they do a great job and I'm glad they're back.

I love these guys, but I think their "show" needs callers.  This is not a snub.  A lot of radio stars would dim without the vibrancy of callers. The WWTC callers were usually smart, and often hilarious'

Do the podcast live on UStream or something on a Sunday night or weekday night.  Over time, a contingent of chatizens, and then callers will emerge.  They might even get a sponsor. JUST TRY IT!

We would love to, but while there are plenty of ways to stream a show live, there is not a satisfactory solution in place to actually take calls. Skype cannot accomodate callers: there's not "hold" button per se, and no way to screen calls. If someone knows of a way to get around these limitations, I'd love to hear it. Call me (heh).

Sign up for 4 Google voice numbers (creating a 4 line hold que)

Folks call google voice number to the screener.

The screener communicates to the hosts the folk(s) on each of the GV numbers

The screener does the call-in for the host by forwarding the call to skype upon the host request.

Alt Method:

Screen callers via chat room (like webex)

Provide selected individual with GV link to call in upon request of host

Clean podcast irregularities via post-production

Hi Instugator,

It could work, but it seems like there are lots of places to screw things up. And then there's the whole issue of getting people to actually show up at the appointed time.  Nonetheless, I expect we will try this or something like it soon. We appreciate the suggestion.

I liked some of the inside baseball stuff, but, I have to be honest, I don't care about the Twins. 15 min of sports radio on a team I want to lose (I'd be happy for the Braves to beat them in the Series, if they want to go that far).

Do we need a quarter hour of local sports talk on a national political podcast?
