Noting on the air just now that Speaker Boehner will open the new session of the House by having the Constitution read aloud, Rush called the event an exorcism.

An exorcism?  Perfect.

The man is a genius.

This reminds me of a quip I like to use:

Barack Obama is a Constitutional scholar in the same way that Willie Sutton was a banking regulator.

Are any congressional heads spinning yet? Have any liberals scampered out from the House floor, shrieking in tongues?

Most importantly, will footnotes be provided for the nation's illiterates and Washington Post columnists?

Just Nancy Pelosi's, but she does that all the time, so it's hard to judge the cause.  In other news, she hawked up a gobbet of green gunk and presented it as her Christmas gift to the American people.

An exorcism is a practice that -- contrary to religious belief -- does not actually achieve its purpose. Rush Limbaugh might be right in comparing a reading of the Constitution on the House floor to an exorcism.

Some may say reading the Constitution is merely symbolic. It is symbolic. But telling your wife you love her now and then even though she knows is what can keep a marriage together.

I love you, Constitution!

If only exorcisms worked.

"Reading the Constitution is like being waterboarded to the Democrats."

Paraphrased from Rush's comments moments ago.

After the past several years, it's more likely to become an Act of Contrition...
