Good news for public employee unionists everywhere:  the leftward ratchet of American politics remains intact.  From AP:

MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin judge issued a temporary restraining order Friday blocking the state's new and contentious collective bargaining law from taking effect, raising the possibility that the Legislature may have to vote again to pass the bill.

Lawmakers had passed Gov. Scott Walker's measure last week, breaking a three-week stalemate caused by 14 Senate Democrats fleeing to Illinois. Demonstrations against the measure grew as large as 85,000 people.

Dane County District Judge Maryann Sumi granted the order in response to a lawsuit filed by the local Democratic district attorney alleging that Republican lawmakers violated the state's open meetings law by hastily convening a special committee before the Senate passed the bill.

From what I understand, the open meetings law in question only applies to regular sessions of the state legislature. Since this recent session was a special session of the legislature, the rule does not apply. Open and shut case, unless you're a leftist political hack in black robes.

The current Wisconsin state supreme court tilts 4-3 in favor of conservative justices. One of the conservatives is up for reelection in just a couple of weeks. The importance of this election cannot be overstated. Get the word out. Donate. Conservatives need to win this election.

Walker should ignore the ruling. Publish anyway. What is the court going to do?

If the Democrats are as misnamed at this point as the USSR was. They do not believe in democracy at all. They only believe in winning. They will do whatever it takes to win.

The Republicans must follow suit. Otherwise, why even bother winning elections. Any Dem that does not denounce does not believe in votes, elections or what makes this nation great.

This has been the mode of the Dems since 2000. I expect more of the same.

Why don't we just cut out the middle men and simply let the judges decree what our laws will be?

I mean, at this point, we've functionally the same thing anyway.

Why not be honest about it?

I don't see this as a problem.  The Democrats don't have enough votes to stop this thing, so even if it has to sit for however long it takes to satisfy the open meetings statute it's still going to pass.  Sure, it yet another low-down dirty trick on the part of the Left to try to win, but it just goes to show yet again what a bunch of whiny crybabies they tend to be.

It is an adversarial process. Good sportsmanship in politics is a GOP weakness when it occurs at all. This is the best the Dems have. White House and national union bullying attempts have opened a national debate that has stripped away any facade of decency and civility related to the modern labor movement.

After the 111st, we are still discussing fair play?

I love the judge's last name!

So, the plaintiff had to claim some kind of irreparable harm was going to be done, in order to file for this restraining order.  However, the actual harm that results from further delay is teacher layoffs.  Such as the layoff of this year's Teacher Of The Year, just because she lacks the seniority dictated by the unioin rules.
