If this were next fall's campaign, with the Texas governor running into the buzz saw that is the obstinate education establishment, I'd call this either an innocent gaffe by a loyal supporter-- or an oppo stunt to undercut the conservative's cause.

"Home-scholars For Perry" is what it should say.

My guess is it's a gaffe. Sorry Texas.

I'm not saying that's a Photoshop job, but there sure is a lot of artifacting around the letters.

*puts on Sherlock Holmes outfit* I'm going to take this into Photoshop for a closer look.

I think this is the original source.

Mollie Hemingway, Ed.

I don't know if it's photoshopped or real but it kind of looks like the kind of prank I would have pulled on a rival campaign when I was in college ...

We used to do similar things, Mollie. I remember back in the late 80s, a friend and I attempted to convince Democrat students to vote for Libertarian party candidates by making signs designed to appeal to their innate selfishness. ("Libertarians won't take away your Rock and Roll!") This was, of course, back when Al Gore was running in the Democratic Primary.

(We were both Bob Dole fans, by the way.)

It's from FARK.COM. Of course it's photoshopped. To make homeschoolers, Perry, gun rights activists, and 85% of the US population look silly.

Judging by the position of the hands holding the sign, I'd say it's shopped. Who holds a sign above their head with the words facing behind them?

When Ontario, Canada, planned to introduce a literacy test for all students before they graduated high school, the teacher unions unsurprisingly revolted.  At one union protest, there was a sign reading, "What if my child fails the litteracy test?"
