I don't think I have any sarcasm left for this one. This is happening in a world beyond parody.

Meanwhile, Syrian state media is accusing the protesters of faking their own deaths.

Well, they need someone to occupy Libya's seat.

Syrian media: "In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Union voiced appreciation of the Syrian people's steadfastness, their rallying around the wise leadership and the honorable role in foiling the dangerous conspiracy and continuing development and reform process."

Now that's objective reporting. Hey, if the state-run media says their leadership is wise and honorable, who are we to question?

Isn't this great? The UN is so wonderfully non-judgmental and open minded, unlike the imperialist/capitalist/racist Judeo-Christian war mongers!

I hope they are allowed to join-it will only serve to provide further proof of the moral bankruptcy of the UNHRC- and help Israel to discredit it's resolutions. If the UN had any sense it would disband the body to save it's own credibility.

The U.N. is upholding their standards by giving Syrian an opportunity to redeem themselves......U.N. = Utopian Nutcases.  Even FDR must be spinning in his grave on this one.

Seriously, it's the UN. There is absolutely no reason to believe that the UN could behave in any other way.

I've heard The Onion is considering legal action against Syria and the UN for conspiracy to interfere with The Onion's business plan through willful, intentional, and reckless self-parody.

Who takes the UN seriously except on Ivy League campuses and other gathering places for the dangerously naive and foolish? It is a dumping ground for the friends and relatives of third world despots, murderers and torturers. The pay and perks can't be beat and they can park anywhere in New York City they want.

In what sense has this organization ever served any U.S. interest? Past time to tear down the edifices of this monstrosity, salt the earth.

I thought they were magnificent in the Ivory Coast, actually.

You are far more sanguine regarding the ultimate results of that time-limited, scope-limited military action than I. However if you wish to praise it credit where credit is due, a toast to the soldiers of the Armée de Terre.
