Although it's only been a month since our last show, the world is a different place now. Osama bin Laden is dead, Mumia still isn't free, the birth certificate is out, Newt is in, Afghanistan is the new Bedrock, and a dog is the unsung hero of Abbottabad. Just another day at the office for Messrs. Steyn, Goldberg, and Long.

Logo Yeti, is it just my podcast or was there production "skip/splice" since talk went from Bedrock Honeymooners to Cats vs Dogs without a long meandering segue from Rob?

Blue Yeti

Thank you for bringing this up Casey, I meant to include it in the post. There is about a 6 to 10 second gap at the 1:06 mark. I chalk it up to Starbucks WiFi. There was no artful way to cut around it without chucking the entire topic. Apologies for the jarring segue.

There was a segue in this podcast?  I thought it was a Podcaste sans segues.  Sort of high-concept performance art.

Has Claire weighed in the Turkish word for the device (can't remember precisely what it was) found in the Turkish gentleman's luggage?   Inquiring minds would like to know.

You guys wimped out with the title.  Clearly, it should have been "Turkish Penis Pumps".

I would hope that Claire doesn't know the Turkish word.

How about in honor of Newt's announcement today( The Gingrich Who Stole Christmas) we name the podcast : The Three Scrooges.

But in the interest of linguistic education, she should look it up.  Sort of like being a fact-checker for the three amigos.

Someone tell these guys that in Filipino languages the accent is on the penultimate syllable. It's ta-GA-log, not TAG-alog.  Education levels have dropped so far since Obama was elected....

They went all Seal Team Six on the CoC. When they were done, it had a gaping head wound.

Bill Walsh

I have no idea about the word for the device in question, but the generic word for pump is pompa, which does sound a bit like bomb. (The word for which is bomba.)

Despite the technical flaw (which caused me to run my player back to see if it had skipped) - it was a fun broadcast. Lots of laughs. Looking forward to many more.

My suggestion for the overall show title, "The Pump Room". For the obvious reasons. Also, I think the Jonah's "We happy few." could still work well as a creepy subtitle for that.

Re Code of Conduct, Rob said only last month "anything goes on the podcast".  Lesson: try and get on the podcast.
