From reading that and other sources (CNN.com) it does not appear that the speculation is yet over.

As the linked article says "Of course, offering to resign is not the same as actually resigning and it remains to be seen whether Mr Obama will accept the resignation."

Perhaps there is a Beer Summit in the offing?
