Very little, short of the cops lobbing smoke grenades into my house, as happens from time to time, brings tears to my eyes. This did. Courtesy of Breitbart's Big Government, a League of Women Voters debate between Joe Walsh and the incumbent Democratic congresswoman Melissa Bean. I'll say no more. Just watch.

In general, Americans are reacting, saying, if you have no respect for America's history and tradition of individualism, of personal freedom, then you have no respect for me, and I'm not going to just shut up and fade into the background. Socialism, over my dead body.

The man who stood in front of the tanks just prior to Tienanmen Square was an icon. May this be an icon of what's happening in our country this fall.

Here's another one that will bring tears to your eyes. A former Marine stood up at a Tea Party gathering and sang the national anthem. These are the true Americans that make up the foundation of our country...the ones that understand why the Bald Eagle is our national symbol.

The people must uphold these traditional displays of fidelity to the Republic and pass them on to future generations.

If they fail to do so - mark my words - we might someday have a President who doesn't know enough to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem or remember to include the word "Creator" when he recites the Declaration of Independence.

Oh? I thought the thing to do during the National Anthem was to sing along as lustily as possible.

More fool me, I guess.

I live in Bean's district. If lawn signs are any indicator Walsh will win this one by a landslide. I think they’re pretty close in the polls, but Bean has a lot more money to spend.

When Bean was campaigning against Cane her campaign left a voice-mail at my home concerning her platform. She sounded like Ronald Reagan: smaller but effective government, school choice, strong defense... It didn’t quite work out that way when she got to Washington. Go figure.

Bald Eagle?

Bingo! I knew Klavan reminded me of something!

Welcome, Lo Fon. I sure hope Bean does get a trouncin' this time around.

My parents live near her district, and what I remember hearing is that the weekend before ObamaCare passed, a bunch of folks gathered around her office to tell her in no uncertain terms that if she voted for it (which she did), she would be kicking herself out of office.

I would dearly love to see their promise become a reality. Not just in Bean's district, but in any district where representatives caved in to ObamaCare despite the express wish of their constituents.

Thank you, Andrew.

By the way, I just watched your video, "The Extremists Are Coming" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx_I1lzJ94w).

I agree with Maggie Gallagher: brilliant.

Midge, thanks for the welcome. I'll be pulling the lever for Walsh.

Political correctness is dug in deeper than I thought if the League of Women Voters is on board. Scary deep if arms have to be twisted to say the pledge before a political event.

Okay, I've found another link, I think. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PXYKZj7P6o&feature=player_embedded

I love the look on Joe Walsh' face at :33, and that single clap was the perfect icing.
