White House Press Secretary Jay Carney's clear and concise explanation is one for the ages. I've never heard a more articulate argument in favor of tax-and-spend government-directed investment over private sector venture capital.

Is it just me or is there a real sense that the Obama campaign played their Bain card WAY too early in this election cycle AND totally misjudged how the message would be received. The Romney camp must be doing somersaults in celebration that this whole Bain thing will probably fizzle out by the convention w/o having to break a sweat or (more imprortantly) having to spend million$ defending Mitt at Bain!

Amen to Melanie's book: one of the best books of the last few years. It should rest right next to Tom Sowell's Intellectuals and Society.
