White House Press Secretary  Jay Carney's clear and concise explanation is one for the ages.  I've never heard a more articulate argument in favor of tax-and-spend government-directed investment over private sector venture capital.

paulebe: Let's all admit the freakishly obvious: No one in this administration (or within Obama's inner circle) understands how commerce actually happens. Everything they've been taught within their Ivy League bubble has been proven, not just inaccurate, but blatantly false. Nothing makes sense. Everything that's down is up and everything that should be up is down....

This is where Melanie Phillips' "The World Turned Upside Down" should be mandatory reading for the whole administration.

Is it just me or is there a real sense that the Obama campaign played their Bain card WAY too early in this election cycle AND totally misjudged how the message would be received.  The Romney camp must be doing somersaults in celebration that this whole Bain thing will probably fizzle out by the convention w/o having to break a sweat or (more imprortantly) having to spend million$ defending Mitt at Bain!

Amen to Melanie's book:  one of the best books of the last few years.  It should rest right next to Tom Sowell's Intellectuals and Society.
