Sex and the City and the GOP
Another actor put out by House Republicans:
With the debate over Planned Parenthood's federal funding raging in Congress, two television stars — Tamara Tunie of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and David Eigenberg of “Sex and the City” — took to Capitol Hill Tuesday to drum up support for the organization.
"This kind of attack from the extreme right is biased, it's uneducated and ill-informed," Eigenberg, who is best known for his role as Steve Brady on the HBO series, told POLITICO.
In February, the House voted in favor of a Republican proposal to block federal aid for Planned Parenthood. The debate over the issue has moved to the Senate, so Eigenberg and Tunie spent Tuesday lobbying senators for their support.
Planned Parenthood's continued funding “is not a negotiable issue,” Tunie told POLITICO.

I don't know about you, but TV actors are the first people I turn to for advice on birth control and federal aid formulas.

Did anyone get a quote from Charlie Sheen?

StickerShock: I'm with you. And of course on how to raise your children.

David Eigenberg from Sex and the City? Isn't that like saying Bosley from Charlie's Angels? Dude's not even Charlie. He's the "and the rest" of the theme song.
Good to see the GOP is holding the line on celebrity standards as well as spending.
Re: Sex and the City and the GOP
Well, there was one actor who used to make sense when he spoke of the GOP and its issues.

Funding is not a negotiable issue?
This has as much rhetorical persuasiveness as "don't you dare!" or "if you de-fund Planned Parenthood, we'll walk out of Congress so you can't have a quorum!"
Uh oh. For a second there, I was afraid I had given Democrats an idea how to protest the de-funding. But don't worry. No politician would be so irresponsible to simply abandon their Constitutional duty, right?

The money and power given to Planned Parenthood is money and power taken from parents.

Re: Sex and the City and the GOP
Why are they even having hearings on this issue? We've got a majority in the House. It's time to be as ruthless as the 111th Congress was when Pelosi was in control.
And it's long past time to restore some dignity to Congress. Inviting D-list entertainers to expound their views is silly.

I second Kenneth here. Only I think it's worse than silly. Congress is demeaning itself.

Oh boy, another couple of actors whose mothers decided not to abort.

Re: Sex and the City and the GOP
Maybe they didn't, but I can find an appopriate one with that handy dandy Sheen quote generator. Hold on.
Here you go: "Imagine what I would have done with my fire-breathing fists."
How about this one: "They can’t hang with me. Their bones would melt like wax."
Or the rallying cry of Planned Parenthood: "I'm just going to sail across the winds of the universe with my goddesses."
Sheen doesn't help.
