The following is lifted from page 8 of the federal indictment against John Edwards -- one of the hush-fund donors complaining to an Edwards staffer about their man's mistreatment:

I was sitting alone in a grim mood -- furious (sic) that the press attacked Senator Edwards on the price of a haircut. But it inspired me -- from now on, all haircuts, etc., that are necessary and important for his campaign -- please send the bills to me . . . It is a way to help our friend without government restrictions.

Don't you just hate it when the government tells you where you can or can't your get hair cut, and interferes with your pursuit of New Age spiritualists?

If the checks listed on page 9 are for haircuts, that must be one hell of a barber.

The baldist subtext of your question offends me.

As a physician working in NC, nothing would make me happier then for this ambulance chasing shyster, who nearly destroyed obstetrical care in this state, to go the federal pen and be introduced to joys of prison life.

I despise John Edwards, but I think John Hinderaker is probably right

If Edwards actually sees the inside of a 'Crossbar Hilton', I'll be thinking:  The 'Breck Girl' goes to prison to get a boyfriend!  Sometimes... sometimes... the forces of good win out over evil.  (Or in this case, good wins our over silly, coiffured, vanity.)
