Semper Fi, Mila
Earlier this week, Mila Kunis made many a Marine smile when she accepted an invitation to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball -- held on November 10, the Marine Corps birthday -- with Sgt. Scott Moore, based out of North Carolina.
Now it appears she won't be going:
Mila Kunis has reportedly broken her word -- and, along with it, one lonely Marine's heart.
Contrary to reports earlier this week, it appears that the "Black Swan" actress won't be attending the Marine Corps Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore in North Carolina this November -- because she has filming commitments that will keep her too busy for traveling.
Kunis accepted Moore's invitation to the ball after some prodding from her "Friends With Benefits" co-star, Justin Timberlake, on Monday. After Timberlake alerted Kunis to Moore's come-on, which he posted on YouTube, he urged, "You need to do it for your country."
Kunis replied to Timberlake, "I'll go. I'll do it for you. I'll do it."

Re: Semper Fi, Mila
I can't imagine that anyone who does the hiring and firing in Hollywood would have a problem with a top actress going to a military ball with a US Marine who has been serving in Afghanistan with all the attendant publicity. Should we ask Ben Shapiro who might be to blame ?
Re: Semper Fi, Mila
Surely there is some starlet out who might come to the rescue of this Marine -- and get some great free pr to boot.

Re: Semper Fi, Mila
I was initially charmed when I'd first heard of this story. I wondered why, especially after 9/11 that Hollywood didn't pick up on what would have been an easy PR home run (I know, stupid question). Its hard to think anyone would be so tone deaf as that actress - perhaps she thinks it would actually establish her "liberal bonafides' in tinsle town.

Leeann Tweeden shows up for the troops all the time. And she's way hotter than Mila.

Hotter, perhaps, but way hotter? Please post a chart to back that up.
If I get a date with a Hollywood starlet, it'd better be Margaret Dumont. Mmm yeah!

So the best we can do for our troops is one of the, "Top Hooters Girls of all time"?

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Re: Semper Fi, Mila
I wonder if this is just simple as Kunis accepting on the spur of the moment without having checked her schedule?
Re: Semper Fi, Mila
FOX Update: She's going to the ball with her Marine, according to her rep.
Re: Semper Fi, Mila
Without really knowing who she is I was ready to love the hell out of her for going. I was ticked when she backed out.
If she is back in, I'll love her again.

She's the latest flavor-of-the-month starlet, who came to prominence because of her lesbian scene with Natalie Portman in The Black Swan.
I didn't see the movie and I hate myself for knowing who she is, but such is the pervasiveness of trash culture.

If you get an invite to a Birthday Ball, you don't turn it down.

Re: Semper Fi, Mila
Actually, most people probably know her by her role in the TV sitcom That 70's Show.
It sounds like she replied to Timberlake as a joke, pointed out that she wasn't being serious, and now her managers have negotiated time away from filming so that her reputation is not tarnished.

She's the voice of Meg Griffin, of course!

Re: Semper Fi, Mila
She needs someone better than Timberlake as an agent, I think. This has been a bit flaky.
I like Mila, I thought she was really cute in That 70's Show. I think the Marine Corps Birthday ball in Greenboro, NC is going to be a big disappointment. It's not a particularly tony town. But she seems to be pretty down to earth.
You can be sure that this Marine will be on a tight leash from the Commandant on down. I hope they have a good time despite that.
