I received a nice Christmas letter today from a young wife and mother. It contained this interesting news of her husband: "D sent word that they had stabilized the nuclear plant and that he was safely back in Okinawa." D is a member of the USMC. And that would be the Fukushima nuclear plant --wiped out by a tsunami, and spewing radiation. The marines have a funny habit of running toward the thing everybody else is running away from. God bless them every one.

My nephew was part of that team until he screwed up his back and got shipped back to the States. He had a pretty funny line on Facebook about eating radiation for breakfast. Until I stopped to consider it, and found it too close to the truth.
