You know, I'm sure I have an enemy or two who hates me, but my friends actually seem to rather like me!  This apparently puts me one step ahead of the President of the United States, who has just received this brutal noogie from talented left wing cartoonist Tom Tomorrow:

tomorrow

Compare this to talented right wing commentator (and friend) Bill Whittle's half-time assessment of Obama's presidency:

Now, when left wing Tom and right wing Bill are saying almost exactly the same devastating things about you, well, sir, you have earned the sympathy of my all-too-gentle heart.  So I propose that all us softies here at Ricochet come up with something nice we can say about our president.  I'll start:

Obama promised us that his nomination would be "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."  I just went down to the beach and checked and, as far as I can tell, the ocean has not risen appreciably since that nomination.  Well done!

Now that's a toughie. Nice thing about Obama.... well, I am honestly happy that a black person was able to get elected President. It proves (whether liberals want to admit it or not) that we, as a society, have passed a milestone, where the vast majority of Americans really don't have problems with black people simply because they're black. Does racism still exist? Yes. But can liberals now really continue to point to institutional racism as the cause of any and all problems facing non-whites in America after a black person was elected President? Absolutely not.

Granted, I would prefer a black person (or a person of any race, for that matter) that's conservative in the White House, but I think he has given us, as Americans, solid proof of how far we've come in race relations over the course of our history. Good job, Barack!

He did say that he would raise the cost of energy dramatically. He seems to be getting an A in that class.

There I go showing my age again. Do they still give out grades...someone's feelings could get hurt. Let's just call it a PASS on higher energy costs.

Um, Drew, you may wanna go check those tides, again.

OK, something nice.  You know what?  For the most part, I have noticed that the average leftist is far less vocal, and annoying, now.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, for the 2011-2012 House of Representatives.

Mission Half-Accomplished.

It's nice to read "Tom Tomorrow" and watch Bill Whittle, but they are both late-comers. All honor must go to Ben Quayle, who stated publicly and without reserve the essential truth of the situation:

"Barack Obama is the worst President in history."

Make those eight words your mantra.

He's articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.  What else can I say?

I have already done my duty by remarking, in an earlier post, on his well-developed sense of irony.

He sets an excellent dietary example by not being obese.  I believe he is also the first serious basketball fan to be President.............which is, I guess, sort of wonderful.

Obama has as much knowledge of the great game of Baseball as any White Sox fan. -- From a Cubs Fan.

I agree wholeheartedly with his assessment of Kanye West.

He'd make a fine basketball analyst on CBS.
