Earlier this week my daughters found a web site that tells you whether you've made Santa's "nice" list. When my youngest, Lucy, ran all our family through it, I came out "without doubt." So did my parents and her sisters. Lucy and my wife got "nearly made it."

So last night we are at dinner, and I am making fun of our recent, ghastly Christmas pageant, where the music teacher picked almost no Christmas carols that anyone knows. I was making up lyrics to some carols at his expense.

At this Lucy -- who likes the music teacher's songs -- turns to my wife and says (of me), "I don't see *how* he made the nice list."

Beautiful and hilarious. Kids are precious.

Update: Lucy has checked the website again, and informs me she has moved from "nearly" to "absolutely" on the nice list.

Pity, this website would have been more useful if it allowed *parents* to give the answer, thereby encouraging better behavior until at least Christmas Day.
