STAY TUNED: Ryan Budget Code of Conduct Alert

In advance of our discussion of the Ryan budget, I would like to remind all members that here on Ricochet we use these synonyms for courageous: red-blooded, stout-hearted, intrepid, fearless, audacious, brave, gutsy, or bold.
We can all discuss this without using any vulgarity, in any language, especially Spanish, and you all know what I'm talking about, amigos.

Re: STAY TUNED: Ryan Budget Code of Conduct Alert
Claire, I would ask why you point this out, had I not skimmed the WSJ's summary this morning!
Congressman Ryan is even more unprintable gutsy than I had hoped, and the country might have an unprintable chance if the GOP rallies around - and makes a consistent case for - Ryan's plan.
...that's how Hemingway would work with the Code of Conduct. Right? I recall being confused by how often characters in For Whom the Bell Tolls said "unprintable" and "unspeakable" and so forth. It's much more fun than hyphens, once you get used to it!

This thing is amazing. I didn't actually hope to see anything like this. What time is it on the East Coast in America? I'm itching to un-embargo this and I get very confused about time zones.

This is a very good start. The principle of vouchers that Ryan wants to use for Medicaid should be applied to 90%+ of entitlements. That would be *wonderful*.

Darn it. At first I thought you were talking about *this* Hemingway. Oddly, I use "unprintable" and "unspeakable" all the time.

Re: STAY TUNED: Ryan Budget Code of Conduct Alert
If you tell an elected official his proposal will be "controversial" it means it will lose him votes. To say it is "courageous" it means it will lose him the next election.
In any case, this budget is sure to produce wide-spread panic and politicians like to panic, they need the activity. It's their substitute for achievement.

Claire, I'm curious, what's the Turkish word for courageous?

Hey, use quotes when you say that.
Mainly I'm just ticked about the banning of our sacred Palinisms.

Can't... resist... posting... link to Billboard in Honduras.
And there's even a golden award version.

Not to worry, Princess Claire. I noticed earlier today the comment to which I think you refer, but didn't have the time or inclination to respond.
You see "cajones" translates roughly to "boxes". I believe Ryan probably has many boxes, full of studies and such, so that's apt. The other word has two Os, so all was well with the COC.

Watch it, missy. You are on the ragged edge there.
