So much for sleeping in...well, wasn't going to sleep in anyway but I may have chewed off all my fingernails by the time Mitt announces.

Seeing a lot of Ryan on the screen tuned to Fox News. Probably my top choice sometime in the last three months, as I've hoped for one of Jindal, Ryan, or Rubio (listed alphabetically) as opposed to Pawlenty or Portman.

Does Joe Biden call in sick on the day of the Veep debate?

So now at 8:45? Can I safely go to bed? Will it be rescheduled for 6:00 am if I do?

Hmmm....the announcement is going to take place in Virginia...what's that governor's name again?

Well, I'm certainly hoping it's Ryan, because Obama so obviously hates the guy.

Hate is the habit of fear and anger, and The Choomed One has it for Paul Ryan big time. There's nobody better to get under Obama's thin skin.

If the Twitterverse is any sign there is going to be a lot of ticked conservative pundits if it is not Ryan.

True. And it doesn't help that FoxNews is endlessly looping file footage of Ryan ginning up the expectation. If it is Bob McDonnell, it's still a good choice since Virginia is a hotly contested swing state and McDonnell has executive experience and a great record as governor...and Mitt could soften the blow by naming Ryan as prospective Secretary of the Treasury...at some point.

The really good news is that I'll be up anyway since I have to work tomorrow. A little unexpected OT right before school shopping is always a bonus.

But wait...there's more:

The USS Wisconsin will be the backdrop when Republican candidate Mitt Romney announces his running mate Saturday morning in Norfolk, Va.

Is it possible to edit that '9AM Eastern' to reflect the change?

I'm fairly new here at Ricochet and this is just a general question.

Nice catch about the 'USS Wisconsin' as a background. Does Mitt get to move ships around if he decides to go for Portman?

I still like Bobby Jindal best, and he would also have an electrifying effect on conservatives and tea partiers. I have been scared for the past few days that this increasingly frenzied Ryan speculation ( which is based on no hard information at all), would force Romney into picking him. I think Ryan is a terrible pick that will mean electoral death in November. Hopefully they have run some test polls in Florida and its not as bad as I think it will be.

Watching MSNBC right now makes me really hope it is Ryan. You can hear the uncertainty in their voices, especially Chuck Todd.

You all know I'm a Ryan fan, but I've been making exactly this case for McDonnell for at least a couple months now. He is prepared to step into the role of president, imo, where Ryan has other strengths. And, I don't know, but I think we're more likely to win Virginia (and need to) than Wisconsin. Although, it sure would be nice to lock down Florida (Rubio). /pulling hair out! Whatevah!

I don't have skin in the game b/c I'm Canadian and can't vote in November, but I can tangibly feel the excitement here!!  I hope its McDonnell as well.
