I don't have a concise thought worked out about this but just had to post if only to say thanks to Bill McGurn for posting this.
This falls into the easy category of Rob Long's idea of embracing the full ferment of American culture.
Speaking of ferment, I'm heading back to my pre-Christmas celebration but with an even-bigger smile.
