He's too humble to tout it here (or else he's working up something really big -- there's a chance a marching band is being organized), but our own Rob Long's new comedy, Sullivan & Son, got off to a great start with its debut on TBS last week. Basically, it's everything you'd expect from a project with Rob's fingerprints on it: sharp, irreverent, and hilarious.

If you haven't caught it yet (and if that's the case, you're really only hurting yourself), you have the opportunity to put the universe back into balance by tuning in tonight at 10 PM (ET/PT).

Here's a nice intro to the show, courtesy of our friends at TBS:

I watched the first two episodes on a flight the other day.  I was laughing out loud; so loudly that I kept looking around in embarrassment to see if the other passengers were noticing.  They were.  But I kept watching anyway.

Check the show out on TBS or head over to iTunes and download the episodes.

Congratulations, Rob.  Like George and, I'm sure, many other Ricochetti, I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes last week and am looking forward to the next one tonight.  I'll keep my eyes peeled for any subtle references to Ricochet, such as a logo'd coffee mug or something like that in the background.  ;-)

My wife and I laughed out loud several times during the premiere.  We are looking forward to more episodes if we can ever figure out the DVR.

Mollie Hemingway, Ed.

So my husband and I watched it last Friday on-demand and we loved it. My husband, in particular, is a really tough sell. But he loved the pacing, the dialogue, everything. Is it bad to mention that I called all my friends with mothers similar to the mom to let them know that they needed to tune in?

Watched the first two shows and loved them! Congrats, Rob! The show was really polished for being right out of the gate. I was impressed by the obvious commitment by the older character actors. True professionals. I hope the younger comic actors are taking notes. While I watched I wondered if any of the personalities here at Ricochet informed some of the characters. I wouldn't put it past Rob to use Ricochet as source material!

Once our cable was restored (i hate comcast technicians), my TiVo was able to record the reruns on Sunday. From now on, I'll definitely be catching it on Thursday. The show definitely reminds me of the working class neighborhood I grew up in (including the good natured but off color ethnic kidding). Great job Rob!

I'll record the 3rd episode on the DVR.  My brother and I were not crazy about the first episode.  But maybe it improves past that.

I am actually looking forward to episode three of a sitcom. I have not sought out a sitcom to watch since, Cheers.

Either I like shows set in bars, or I like Rob's touch!

I think the last sitcom I watched was Cheers. I will definitely watch it tonight. Unless it is posted somewhere on the Ricochet front page however, I won't remember what night it is on

Enjoyed the first two episodes quite a bit.  It's a solid premise with the right amount of characters to build out funny and interesting subplots.

I'm not an expert on comedy. I just know what makes me smile and laugh. I guess that makes me all the expert I need to be.

The first two shows were good.

The pilot, as most are, was stunted, but the second episode they showed right after was really good. Looking forward to tonight.

I really enjoyed the Pilot(s?) last week, and I'll definitley be tuning in tonight. I'm usually not a fan of the sitcoms with a laugh track (or live studio audience, for that matter), but this was a fun and funny show. Plus, I had to support Rob!

Rob, was there any particular reason why you guys went with the laugh track? Seems like most [non-CBS] sitcoms are moving away from that nowadays.

Keep up the great work!

Sullivan and Son is not on EZTV yet. Hope they include that on their roster.

Great episode. Loved the riff by Doyle-Murray on Vietnam.

The third show lived up to the first two. Well done Mr. Long. Does this mean that now you'll be too rich and famous to mingle with your old partisan pals on Ricochet? As for matching the characters to Rico members, I think the CoC should be explicitly updated to head of that madness. Clark Kent needs that secret identity.

Can't wait to see what juicy continuing role Rob has in store for me!

Enjoyed the first two episodes. But like "Seinfeld," the weakest actor in the cast is the leading-man, a stand-up comic.  Over time, Jerry Seinfeld improved enormously as an actor. Hopefully, Steve Byrne will do so as well.

I loved the first two episodes, but last night was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. The voice is incredibly clear, and I think the show's really got the potential to rejuvenate a style of sitcom that hasn't seemed to work very well the past couple of years. "30 Rock" ain't got nothin' on "Sullivan & Son."
