Ricochet's Money & Politics Podcast with Jim Pethokoukis: Episode 1
Welcome to the Ricochet's Money & Politics Podcast with me, Jim Pethokoukis. In my inaugural podcast, I chat with Dr. Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute about the Supreme Court's ruling on President Obama's healthcare reform law and its impact on the future of U.S. healthcare.
Note from The Blue Yeti: Ricochet Podcast subscribers, you'll get this through the Ricochet Podcast feed (subscribe here). The direct link is here. This episode is on us, but the next one will be for Ricochet Members only. Join today!
Note: that is not Dr. Gottlieb in the photo.

I look forward to that day you can have that vintage cheerleader on from CNBC and call him, "Larry K"!
Where's the link, Yeti? We don't have to go through all of that other nonsense, do we, pleaseeeeee?

Good stuff. As I asked in the other thread, can someone explain why groups are insured for so much less than individuals in 2012? I'm not talking about tax treatment but why individuals pay so much more than emoployees. If large orgs.

Thank you for the wonderful show. It is easy for a conservative to understand, conceptually, that increased government intervention in health care will result in increased costs and diminished results. I appreciate, however, you and Dr. Gottlieb getting into the details of how this result will come about (e.g., the private insurance death spirals in the exchanges resulting from flawed actuarial data in the legislation). It should come in handy the next time I am having a debate with my liberal friends!
I am really looking forward to many more Pethokoukis podcasts.

Re: Ricochet's Money & Politics Podcast with Jim Pethokoukis: Episode 1
If the GOP wins the House, the White House, and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, there is still not the remotest possibility that Obamacare will be repealed in its entirety. They lack the moral courage to do it just like Roberts lacked the moral courage to vote to declare it unconstitutional.
We are cruzing at light speed into a black hole no matter who's in charge, the only difference being whether we cross the event horizon on the right or left side.

Re: Ricochet's Money & Politics Podcast with Jim Pethokoukis: Episode 1
Finally listened to the podcast, and it is absolutely stellar.
The best aspect of the podcast is the amount of solid information it gave about the downsides of Obamacare, in digestible form without the political posturing. Pethokoukis is a gifted interviewer, and Gottlieb had the knowledge and the background which until now I had unfortunately only heard from left-leaning commentators, who always withhold certain important details.
A home run. Can't wait for the next one.
