I saw video yesterday, came here, and paid my dues. I agree, it is an incredible resource.

A few thoughts:

(1) My decision to give up television four years ago has been totally vindicated! There is more brain power in Robinson, Lileks and Long than on all the Sunday morning talk shows combined.

(2) I've been following Whittle since his days as an obscure blogger. You will not find a more decent, humble, and optimistic man on the planet. I wonder seriously if he wouldn't make a good press secretary for the right president.

(3) I'm more impressed everyday with the Ricochet business model. This is the place on the net where rank and file conservatives can communicate with the new media directly. And do so without having the threads hijacked by trolls.

That was fun seeing real expressions on your faces instead of just imagining.

I prefer just the imagining. I look way too red and puffy on these things.

The face of the inscrutable "R" is suddenly revealed. I don't mind, and I won't tell; those who missed it are simply out of luck. I'll take the opportunity instead to double down. I might be wrong, but I think readers will appreciate the metaphor.

Ricochet is a place where ideas fly with ballistic speed. Some ideas amount to a flash in the pan, mere smoke, despite the best efforts of the marksman. No shame in that. Other ideas take off, bounce around the stratosphere, resonate, fly back and forth between multiple minds with the slashing power of a vorpal blade: snicker-snack, Blackjack Kerouc, give the dog a paddy-whack, let's fly to the stars and back.

The process is known as dialectic. The members provide perspective based on life experience, education, and intuition. No one of us is as smart as all of us together. The blended product is a potent combination similar to a good whiskey.

I bow before my fellow Ricochets and count myself privileged to be in the company of such an august body. Cheers!

Dude! You came into the world red and puffy. You're just reverting to a primal state of being. At least you can smoke a good cigar on your way out, something you couldn't do on the way in. Have you not noticed that all babies look like Winston Churchill?

And when the Angel of Death arrives to collect your swollen carcass, I recommend good cheer, acceptance and a 12 gauge shotgun. Death angels are total suckers for sincerity. I knocked one off my patio fireplace with 00 buck just the other night. The angel looked a bit annoyed on the way down, but my cat enjoyed the sudden flurry of feathers.

Mortals can only defer the inevitable, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the process. It's like buying your first pair of relaxed fit jeans and realizing there's room in the pockets for something chambered in caliber .45. Life keeps getting better.

That actually was kind of fun. Good advertising too.

Good show! I never thought that I'd see Peter request a copy of a Twisted Sister video for child-rearing purposes. That's why it's worth paying attention, one can always be surprised.
