Ricochet Targeted by White House Spokestwerp!
Off to a rousing start, this Progressive Media outreach program. Obama's Twitter feed consists of a Fathers' Day message saying, um, how proud he is to be a father. Well good for him, but not exactly riveting stuff.
Not to worry, though, when real entertainment is needed, Joe is there, announcing the Grand Opening of his Twitter account. What glorious entertainment this could be! It would be like Charlie Sheen and Alec Baldwin together, multiplied by Christmas. Except, well, he doesn't write his own Tweets, which at present consist of a message of thanks to the troops. A noble sentiment, but not going to bring in the viewers.
To liven things up, the White House has brought in one Jesse Lee to serve as Director of Progressive Media and Online Response on the taxpayer dime. And by dime I mean $72,000. To write ten Tweets per day. That's like 15 sentences. In a day. And he's not even a Kardashian.
15% of these gems of compression are directed at Ricochet Contributor Kevin Eder, who, so far as I know, is not affiliated with any major media outlet. In truth he tweets a lot. A whole lot. An alarming amount. One worries for his health. But 15% of WH Twitter time is directed at him? It's not even a fair fight, either, as we see from this exchange:

Note the pith and cogency of the first, and the puzzling complexity of the second. I'm sure Jesse will get better with on-the-job training. In the meantime, he may stop responding to Kevin, being so publicly smacked for doing so. Which opens a rare opportunity for our intrepid Tweep to pester the White House to the point of serious distraction, as all good gnats should.

What tiny-minded little boys playing fascist fort, putting up cardboard signs with NO TEABGGERS ALLOWED, would hire someone to sit on Twitter all day sniping at non-worshipful tweetists?
I hope the next administration doubles the size of government to investigate all the nasty bully-boy crap these people have been doing these past few years.

All due respect to @keder who is the, umm, Dumbledore? of Twitter, but how pathetic that the White House could be goaded that way. Talk about debasing the office of the President.

Trace: the box office don't lie. Got a 25% boost in Followers since doing the daily Countdown to Hogwartsgeddon posts. In one day. They will cease and desist on July 15th (though have somethin up my sleeve for then).
I dunno, Crookshanks. There's already a TOTUS and an Autopen on Twitter. Could be a crowded field.
Just wish someone would pay me $72,000 to write maybe 15 incoherent sentences a day, cramming in awkward random talking points.
