JP: Open primary: good idea, or disaster in the making?
LM: It’s interesting for me to watch California embrace the system used in my home state of Washington. Personally, I’m not convinced that the previous system was broken, and having had the experience of watching it play out in Washington, I would have voted against this particular change. Yes, it may help guarantee a victory for Dino Rossi in the Evergreen State this year, but overall, I think it has a lot of disadvantages.
