James I absolutely agree on the coffee comment. In particular Spanish coffee is one of the most delicious and enjoyable drinks I have ever had. I am so entralled by it that I buy it at an exorbitant price (has to be imported), sighh.

Wonderful podcast! I must add, however, that I think the Left will run with the "Rick Perry is stupid" narrative. I have already received several messages from liberals mocking Governor Perry's Texas A&M transcript (I think he got a "D" in a course entitled "Meats"). Creativity isn't a left-wing strength so I imagine he will get the pro forma Bush treatment.

Miniter talked about the problem of refugees from sub-Saharan Africa flooding Europe. For the record, John Derbyshire has talked about this several times in his Radio Derb podcasts. So at someone else has noticed!

Interesting podcast as usual but disturbing picture, also don't like the slam on "western PA deer hunters, vote democratic to get checks"!??!? Seems awfully elitist and over-simplistic. Another take on the clinging to god and guns, they use to be referred to as the Reagan democrats, probably the hardest working people I've lived among

I recently heard This Is Why We Fight for the first time on the radio and although I enjoyed the song, I couldn't help but feeling a little gypped in not hearing an intro by Lileks...
