Say Cheese!

We didn't plan this, it just worked out in the last 24 hours that two of Wisconsin's rising stars, Governor Scott Walker and Representative Paul Ryan wound up on the same podcast. The governor discusses unions, his recall battle, and how the situation in Wisconsin could be a harbinger for the federal government. Then, Paul Ryan talks with Peter Robinson about his new budget, how he sells his health care cost structure to his Aunt Ellen, and reveals how Mitt Romney will run on Ryan's budget in the fall. Last, but certainly not least, Ricochet's own Adam Freedman stops by to analyze the SCOTUS health care arguments. A fully packed show!

Why is it good to be in Wisconsin when the Apocalypse comes? Everything new takes ten years to show up in Wisconsin.

No, but I notice that you didn't mention Rob.

You're a good guy to protect him EJ. Still looks better without the Viqueen.

Were it not for the cheese on their heads I'd swear they were members of the Green and Gold Army or Wallabies supporters (or both). Of course, Peter is the most patriotic Australian of the lot with an Australian flag draped around his neck.

You mean I may have photoshopped a photoshop? Some of the folks I erased from the shot definitely had Packers jerseys on...

Not having seen the original photo I can't say. I'll willingly grant you that Packers colors are similar to the sporting colours worn by various Australian national teams (soccer, rugby, cricket, etc) and their fans. But if that's not an Australian flag around Peter's neck then what is it?

Ricochet meetup at Leinie's Lodge!

EDIT: Hey, no, I'm not really organizing one. That was a bit of a joke. But if someone wishes to, I'm there!

They are, it would seem, in the Australian green and gold and that is the Australian flag draped around Peter. Latest Olympic gear unveiled.

More cheese to you..

Yes, well, I do know my own country's flag and sporting colours when I see them :-) Peter and the gang would make great honorary Aussies by the way; perhaps they could make the trip down under some time.

Croix du Sud- I second that emoticon. A podcast with Andrew Bolt, Tim Blair, Piers Ackerman, Christopher Pearson to name a few about the state of Australian politics vis a vis the American scene since Obama and our Labor fed gvt and worrying loss of free speech down under.. re Bolt- I cannot say what I cannot and and why I can not

I suggest a Ricochet contest:  Find the word(s) mispronounced by Lileks in each week's podcast.  This week's word is conservatism.

I do have to admit, we're sorely lagging behind Minnesota when it comes to electing lunatics to the Governorship and US Senate. Nope, I guess for now we'll have to settle for milquetoast pols like Scott Walker and Ron Johnson.

It was my understanding that Trayvon Martin was shot in the chest, not in the back.  Does Rob have more current information?

I couldn't help but notice that Paul Ryan cited CBO projections about Medicare going bankrupt in 2021 after just having complained about Republicans going along with CBO projections for the wider budget.
