Re: Ricochet Podcast #101: Get Your Mitts Up
This was a fun podcast, but it seems like you all wanted a lot more of Coulter's time and weren't getting it. I suggest some pre-podcast nude oil wrestling (I leave the choice of oils up to you "fellows", to use a purported Romney-ism) to determine who gets to ask what, how frequently, and how many interruptions are allowed. And who has to show up to the podcast still covered in ignominious oil.

Haven't listened yet, but the promise of such funkiness to come from Don and Walt bodes well for my enjoyment of this week's podcast!

Glad to discover Ms. Coulter agrees with me about Mitt Romney--the Tweets worked!

Re: Ricochet Podcast #101: Get Your Mitts Up
Peter Robinson, do you believe that in general Romney ran to Ted Kennedy's left in the 1994 election, or what that a rhetorical flourish on Romney's implausible claim that he ran to Kennedy's left on a single issue (gay rights)? Specifically, do you think that he ran to his rights on spending, taxes, school choice, immigration, foreign policy, mandatory sentencing, welfare reform, term limits, campaign finance, congressional accountability, or federal healthcare, where he ran alongside the right of the Republican party? Or do you believe that Romney's commitment not to overturn Roe v Wade was to Kennedy's left?

Ugh! I could only listen to 15 minutes of Ms. Coulter's (literal!) whining. Please, never again.

Instate tuition is just the icing on the cake. One of the biggest draws for illegals and their families are free U.S. public school education from elementary to H.S.. And now they want a subsidized college education?
it's not such a problem if the U.S. is only attracting undocumented mexican workers...

When did James become a fan of Norwich's finest, Alan Partridge? I find that a little scary, to be honest. But I do claim my finder's badge, Claire.

Can someone fill me in on the meaning of "March Hare" in Ann's context?
Sorry not to be hip to the argot.

Darn, Terry beat me to the 101 reference by just a few posts! I'm surprized it took that long. Are we showing our age, since it goes back to TV cigarette ads? I can hear the tune in my head, too.
@Christian, thanks for asking; I second the question. Anyone?

This is the first Podcast I had to turn off. I come to Richochet to get away from the noisemakers.
I'm now going to suggest a horrible thing:
Most Ricochet podcasters need to learn that the Female participants need a lot more bass, less shrill treble.

.....
Well, thanks to Plyler v. Doe, we can't do much about this, even with legislation. Alienage invites the "intermediate scrutiny" standard in court.
But contra Jimm above, seriously, Blue Yeti, treble is important, and lack of bass is equally important. Podcast volume is controllable, but the large numbers in the US with high frequency hearing deficits (Reagan and Clinton for starters, plus me) rely on bright tones to understand and comprehend the words. Roll off the highs and boost the lows and we'll have to stop listening because we won't understand a word.

I caught the Coogan reference, too. Lileks is so much fun.
Coogan is a genius. Netflix has a few of his videos. Hilarious stuff. All the Alan Partridge stuff and the Saxondale series -- very good. Unique.

Re: Ricochet Podcast #101: Get Your Mitts Up
This was one of the most interesting podcasts in a while. Thanks especially to Peter for using his interesting intellectual insistence (nice alliteration, eh?) to go after all the little weak points in the Romney candidacy and also for the digs at Coulter. I just bet she loved this kind of a fracus more than almost all the other interviews she does. Really top notch use of this podcast medium -- thanks, again.
BTW, I deeply respect Romney. I loved Peter's penetrating examination. And I love Ann Coulter. (And of course, Lileks and Rob were along just for color.)
Go Newt!

Re: Ricochet Podcast #101: Get Your Mitts Up
Why, Ann, is Mitt's wealth perfectly fine in a capitalist society while Newt's "enormous revolving account at Tiffany's" is cause for derision?
Sad to say I agree with GOVICIDE. I used to devour Ann's books the moment they came out, and then pass them on to my favorite family Libs. Now, I hardly recognize her anymore...
