Ricochet Live Debate Chat Tomorrow Night

Debate season kicks off tomorrow night at the University of Denver, where Mitt Romney and Barack Obama will go head-to-head for the first time (moderated by Jim Lehrer) to argue domestic policy. For this and each of the coming debates, Ricochet will be hosting live chats where many of our contributors will join our members to break down the exchanges in real time.

Yeah...ok.

Why do we put ourselves through this? (Not the live chats, they're great; I mean the debates.) Who reading this believes the debates will change the outcome of the general election?

I do not believe any of those "undecideds" will be convinced by the debates. I believe they will take the position of some talking head's opinion of the debate.

I'm still offended by Paul Rahe's invocation of Laophraig as the ultimate Scotch single malt for peatiness on the Naked Constitution podcast. If he keeps going downmarket like this, I expect a mullet and Iron Maiden t shirt for the next podcast. Despite the Led Zeppelin heavy metal vibe that Dr Rahe is giving off by his excessive fondness for pro wrestling style Scotch flavoring, the Laophraig is no match for the ultimate in Hulkamania Peatiness. I mean, yes, of course:
