I received the sad news today that one of our members, Timothy Thompson, died of a stroke on January 5.

I had never met him, but we had exchanged thoughts about politics for years. He often alerted me to stories I might otherwise have overlooked.

We occasionally spoke of more personal things. He was knowledgeable, intelligent and kind.

I wish now, of course, that I had taken the time to tell him that I appreciated his e-mails and our chats on Skype.

I'm sorry, Tim.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,  Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit  Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,  Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it

The human body is both very fragile and very resilient. It's a miracle that anyone has ever lived to be 80, let alone 120 years old. We were shortchanged by Tim's early passing, but I pray that he doesn't think he was shortchanged, and that he's now at peace.

I remember his post about dinner party etiquette.  I thought then, "What a humble and gentle soul this guy has."

Now he's taken that soul to a gentler place.

Rest in Peace

I recall the dinner party comment he made, it almost broke my heart. I hope to G-d he did not die alone. RIP Timothy Thompson

If you say a prayer for him, then he did not die alone.
