Mike Needham, the energetic young CEO at Heritage Action for America, the Heritage Foundation’s politically active 501(c)(4) sister organization, is on offense. In an email to supporters today he writes:

Two weeks ago, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) filed a discharge petition, a special measure that would force the U.S. House of Representatives to vote again on Obamacare. The petition needs 218 signers to force a re-vote. Already, more than 80 lawmakers have signed on, including Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and others in the GOP leadership, and the momentum continues to build.

Rep. King has publicly attributed much of the momentum behind the petition to our efforts at Heritage Action. We’re working alongside King in a national cooperative effort. And we intend to do everything we can to help him get as many signatures as possible.

Mike is planning to run the following television spot in targeted districts.

I am joining Heritage Action, and hope you consider doing likewise, in hopes of making political climate change a reality for President Obama and Speaker Pelosi this summer.

And the sooner the better, before a majority of Americans work for either the federal, state, or local government. At this rate, we may all live to see that day.

My plan was to win Congress in 2010, win the Presidency in 2012, then repeal the bill on January 21, 2013, just before most of it takes effect. This option sounds a lot better!
