Recently, I launched the Prosperity Podcast, a podcast dedicated to our shared goals of cutting spending, paying down the debt, and getting our fiscal house in order. For our inaugural episode, my good friend Senator Marco Rubio of Florida joined us to discuss the need for a Balanced Budget Amendment, how we can stop the out of control spending by Democrats in Washington, and our chance of a Republican takeover of the Senate in 2012. I'd encourage you to tune in for our conversation and visit ProsperityPAC.com for more information. Listen below (direct link here) and please subscribe on iTunes to get future episodes.

Is there a direct link where those of us who don't use iTunes can download the podcast?  Not only do I not use iTunes, but I don't sit by my computer while listening to podcasts.  Yeah, I know, I'm just weird that way. :)

Awesome!

Thank you both, Representative Ryan and Senator Rubio, for your clear and strong message.  Like a bell in a foggy swamp, your voices will be the ones looked to in the coming years.  And I for one am encouraged by that prospect!

If it weren't for the heretical Packer talk at the end, I would've enjoyed the whole thing...in essentials - unity, in non-essentials - liberty, in all things charity ... I guess...

A Paul Ryan podcast featuring Sen. Rubio?  Could it get any better than this?  Maybe a nomination announcement.

If only my state could find men such as this.  Wait... we have them, we just can't get them elected.  Sigh.

We need leadership such as this, to give us hope that prosperity lies ahead, rather than the UK riots.

Wisconsin also gives us hope.

Errm, not so much else at the moment.

A great podcast by two outstanding political leaders.

It was very interesting to hear Paul Ryan discuss the disastrous attempt to institute Medicare price controls in 1997 and the lessons learned by each party as a result.  The Democrats learned that price controls instituted by elected representatives don’t work, but would work if instituted by an unaccountable bureaucracy.  I think the unrestricted growth of the unelected bureaucracy and its ability to implement detailed rules that constrain our economy and regulate our daily lives in excruciating detail is the ultimate threat to our liberty.  We must deal with this issue in addition to reforming the major entitlement programs.

I appreciate the two gentlemen for addressing our fiscal crisis by crunching the numbers.  However, I hope at some point we get a person who will speak to the sociological implications of living in the administrative super-state.  When the state attempts to do for the citizenry what the able-bodied should be doing for themselves, the situation generates a different kind of crisis.  We're seeing the results in Britain today.  The state cannot substitute its tender embraces for ordinary civic virtue.  The situation we face is a moral crisis in addition to the fiscal implications.

But is there a non-iTunes subscription/feed link?  (not direct download).

Thanks.

With one credit downgrade on the way to turning the United States of America into a saucer of Michael Milken, how many cool cats does it take to get you to run Rep Ryan? I mean, having Barone and Rahe paw at you to enter the race is fine, but I think an unusual talking pet in an Iowahawk primary is what the country needs right now.

The Twitter fight alone would be a tremendous fund raiser.

GOProsperity.... Looking forward to listening.  But quick point on the ticket talk.  I think it's reasonable and understandable that both Mr. Ryan and Rubio (and for that matter Pence, Christie, Daniels) tread lightly when it comes to running for President.  At the heart of it, these men respect the authority and duties that come with the office that regardless of their demonstrative leadership or past experience.  They may question whether it's their time.  That's a good thing because they take the task seriously. However, even if their names are not on your voting card, there is a greater role they can play in promoting a conservative candidate to the executive office.  You cannot win easily a two-front war.  So if our heralds of conservative values enter the public debate against President Obama's policies as both presidential candidates and legislative leaders, the Democrats do not have the leadership depth in their party to adequately debate the policy points.  If the brunt falls to the President, he cannot rebut our message, coming from all angles, alone because he does have his own consistent message.  The fear is intra-GOP fighting that is counter-productive instead of beneficiary

Thanks!  Don't tell Rob anyone, but I think the value of Ricochet just went up a couple of sheckles (as James would put it).

Oh, I'm also wondering how proud of his fellow Wisconsin citizens Ryan is this morning now that they have successfully fought the Union backed recall elections.  Walker, Ryan, a brave electorate, the Packers - man, what are they putting in the milk and cheese up there these days.

Please run.  This is a ticket that I would get out and work tirelessly for.  Nobody else is inspiring me.
