I'll be there. Can't wait. Is there anything interesting to see or do in Palo Alto? I might be in town in the afternoon with some time to spare.

Only a few weeks too late, I was just in that area last weekend for Vineman 70.3,  Hope the soiree is fun, I know the weather over there is perfect!

As you might expect, the Stanford campus is right down University Ave., which is renamed Palm Drive after it crosses El Camino Real.  Check out the quad, Hoover Tower, The Rodin Sculpture Garden (although it's more impressive at night), etc.

Here's a "36 Hours" piece on Palo Alto in the NYT from 2003.  A few of the places are closed, so I'd call if you want to check something out.

Works for me.  They opened a Paxti's up here in Lafayette, so I'm glad to try it out in Palo Alto and see if it's worth becoming a regular at the one closer to home.

If I had some free time in Palo Alto, I'd head straight over to Hoover Institution and try to meet Thomas Sowell, VDH, or Shelby Steele!

OU - thanks for this!  I will be spending a couple of days in Palo Alto and now I have  a  plan besides Rico-pizza.  Gonna rent a bike!
