ClaireBerlinski

As everyone by now knows, tragedy has struck Claire Berlinski. Tomorrow, she will have to do penance for her many sins by joining a Hillsdale College cruise in the Baltics and hobbing with knobs like Karl Rove, Paul Johnson, and John O'Sullivan. I think that we should take advantage of this by feeding her questions to ask that Republican eminence grise Karl Rove. So here’s mine: “One of the lunatics who writes from time to time for Ricochet has suggested that Barack Obama is a Manchurian candidate and that you are the evil genius who serves as his controller. Is there any truth in this?"

What questions do you have for Claire to put to Karl Rove? Let your imaginations run riot.

"Is your undersea NEOCON war bunker lavishly or austerely decorated?"

"Is the Hillsdale College Cruise really just the Bohemian Grove of the East?"

"Would you consider yourself a supervillain of the megolomaniacal or just the sadly misunderstood variety?"

"How long would it take a Palin/Cain presidency to overwhelm the world with right-wing anti-establishment, outsider, capitalist matriarchal/afrocentric imperialism?"

and finally,

"How did you and Dubya orchestrate Weinergate?"

How important is it, that every four years about 10-million Americans pass away, and about 10-million new voters take their place? It seems like it would cause a significant ideological shift every four years, and provide a very different playing field, considering how close our national elections have been lately.

Claire Berlinski, Ed.

There is something painfully ironic about taking a break from Turkey during election season and flying directly toward American-conspiracy-theory-central.

It's my destiny, I guess.

People say the reason why you don't support Palin is because you are secretly, yet passionately, in love with her. Sort of like the little boy who pulls the hair of the girl he likes.

So my question is: for how long have you been crazy about her?

 A question for Karl:

Should Republicans work on an "Urban Strategy" of policies (not just vote seeking) to widen our base, or is that a hopeless cause, leaving America destined to be suburban/Rebublican and urban/Democrat forever?

I wouldn't bother much with Karl Rove if Paul Johnson is onboard. You can ask him how many times in the past the mistakes have been made, why we struggle to learn from them, and whether Rowlandson was a better titillator than Vargas !

If this is the cruise leaving yesterday, I see that walking on water is an option, as well as the talents of Tibor Szabo, juggler. His uncle Gabor Szabo was one of the great jazz guitarists until his untimely death. On the other hand, Szabo might be the Patel of Hungary.

When can we start lobbying for your appearance on the NR Cruise in November ? Rob, James ???

Another question for Karl:

After a primary is concluded, and assuming your guy didn't get the nomination, what justification can someone who claims to be Republican make for attempting to sink the Republican candidate in the general election as both you and Charles Krauthammer did with respect to Christine O'Donnell?.

Even though you've read waaaay more books than Sarah Palin, she has waaaay better political instincts than you.  How do you explain this, Karl?

You do not know the power of the Force, it is your Destiny

On a different note, enjoy the cruise. My wife & I did a similar itinerary a few years after the Soviet collapse and was amazed by the difference between St Petersburg and the Baltic states (Estonia in particular) in which peoples were recovering faster. The later was bouncing back a mach speed vs the general decrepitude of the cultural capital of Russia.

I'd like to read that in Latin.

Small point: I am a fan of Arvo Part and the Estonian Philharmonic album Te Deum

Claire, you owe it to all of us on Ricochet to loudly utter the blood curding Oxford battle cry of the Republic:

"Zenga! Zenga!" while mildly potted on pre debate whiskeys to recall the heady days of Copleston v Russell in the 1940's BBC debate.

Ask Karl ,"What/who made you the intellectual/strategic force for the Republican Party?" ,"Do you deserve this title?",and "what do you think is the gulf between establishment Republicans, whom I consider you to be, and regular citizens and Tea Party types?", "Is this gulf crossable?".
