Yes, really. Meanwhile, Turkey is having a serious conversation with itself about which party is in fact the pawn of the Western imperialists. Well, Turkey, you just go ahead and have a good long debate with yourself about that.

You know where they'll get really excited about the Eurasian Union? Germany. At least part of it. There has been a “bridge to the East” party in Germany for a couple hundred years arguing that they're the natural interlocutor for the West with Russia. Combine that with the utopian international-institution-building pacifism near and dear to the modern German heart, and climbing into bed with Dyadya Putin probably sounds like a fabulous idea. “And cheaper natural gas!”
