In his new episode of Klavan on the Culture, Andrew Klavan carries out a sting op on the set of Sesame Street.  You'll never think of Big Bird the same.

I never liked Big Bird, and now I know why.

Cookie monster is a pretty good metaphor for Congress and the IRS.

Can't do that, Bert is likely gay, which means a discrimination suit.

In a nod to Klavan's point about supporting PBS when there are privately funded alternatives...

We don't watch Sesame Street in our household.  I have found that the pedagogy and the presentation are very primitive when compared to cable alternatives.  Compare an episode of Sesame Street to an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Ni Hao Ki-Lan and tell me which one deals with puzzle solving, counting, and critical thinking, which one deals with problem solving and social relations, and which one is about promoting the latest pop star's album.

Three guesses on the last one, and the first two don't count.
