"Progressive" Networks Coming to Your State
For those who have watched the way Colorado was driven downhill by medical device heiress Pat Stryker and her compatriots, we can be reassured that more is on the way from those who 1) favor left wing causes, and 2) generally seem not to have to work for a living. The three states with the most advanced version of this phenomenon are Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Minnesota's equivalent of the "Colorado Discovery Alliance" is called "A Better Minnesota", and they were instrumental in giving us Mr. Deer-in-Headlights, Gov. Mark Dayton as a reward for his previously being named Worst Senator.
Now, Katherine Kersten, the second best (we all know the champ) columnist writing occasionally in the Minneapolis StarTribune, brings us the joyous news about the Wisconsin configuration and their role in trying to recall at least three Republican state senators, and next year Gov. Walker, so that the unions can get their compulsory dues collected again by the state to keep the cash rolling in for union lefty political donations.
The glorious news? Coming to 25 states in time for next year's presidential election.

Re: "Progressive" Networks Coming to Your State
They're actually running Mediscare ads against Wisconsin Republican State Senators up for recall.
Cause, you know, a lot of Medicare policy is decided in Madison.

Disturbing. I don't know what else to say. How can we counter this?
Was there a specific National Review article you meant to link to?

Aaron, I believe this is the URL Duane tried to include: http://nrd.nationalreview.com/article/?q=ODJmYWRlMDkxMzYxMzM1NTY3YmMwZDc1MzZmMmYzMGU=
For some reason, when I try to fix it, the link continues to get shortened and sends readers to the wrong page.

A couple of the current Progressive political ads from WI:

We see them in the Twin Cities as they try and reach Western Wisconsin.

Thanks, Diane.

There is no need to worry. We have a secret weapon. His name is Barack Obama. Every time he speaks in public, his party and those who support it lose ground.

Re: "Progressive" Networks Coming to Your State
Just an aside here.
4 years ago ( before I knew who Pat Stryker is ) the company I work for built a private taxiway to Ms. Strykers exceptionally large hanger that houses her extremely plush private jet.
Obviously, Pat can do whatever she wants with her money but when she throws large chunks of it to political candidates that want to tell us what to do with our`s I get a little p.oed.
I wonder if she`s one of the sanctimonious left that feels they aren`t taxed enough ?

Please make the following corrections to your post:
"...we can be reassured that more is on the way from those who 1) favor Democrat (not left wing) causes..."
"...so that the unions can get their compulsory dues collected again by the state to keep the cash rolling in for union Democrat (not lefty) political donations..."
When Wisconsin voters go to the polls, the opposition to the Republican state senators and to Republican Scott Walker will not be candidates of the "Left Wing" Party or the "Lefty Party."
They will be members of the Democrat Party seeking to advance the Democrat Party agenda.
Stop being bashful about using the proper description. Instead of making "liberal" a dirty word, let's make "Democrat" one.
Elect no Democrat anywhere, ever.

Aaron, Diane is right- that is the NR piece I linked to. Apparently NRO has some script that blocks direct linking to archived articles.
Freesmith, be my guest. Call people whatever you want. But what I oppose is anti-free-market public policy- which is left wing- not necessarily a particular party. One of the smartest guys in Minnesota is five term former Democrat congressman Tim Penny (a rare politician who walked away from sure re-election to be among normal people again).

Re: "Progressive" Networks Coming to Your State
If Republicans take the national reins in the coming elections, should campaign finance reform be a priority? Would repealing the McCain-Feingold legislation help, despite Democrats' inevitable response of claiming Republicans want to return to a corrupt system?

The Madison-based MacIver Institute is doing yeoman's work in reporting about Big Labor's strip-mine-sized footprint in the recall races. The "We Are WIsconsin" PAC (actually, "We aren't Wisconsin") is a droid-army-like coalition containing the usual suspects of SEIU/AFL-CIO/AFT/WEAC etc. Their dollars dwarf the individual contributions of supposed grass roots. Full disclosure: I'm a public school teacher in Wisconsin. Check MacIver's work at http://maciverinstitute.com/
