Yes, it's been a while. But truth be told, it has been tricky to find a suitable place to record. Now that some space in Abbottabad has suddenly opened up, we believe we've found the perfect venue. So please join us this Wednesday, May 11th for the next edition of the show temporarily known as Steyn/Goldberg/Long. But remember, you have to be a Ricochet member to hear it. So join today! In the meantime, please sample one of our many other podcasts listed over on the sidebar. And feel free to post your suggestions for a new show name in the comments.

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
It better come back soon: it's the reason I became an honest man and joined!
Having joined, I'm very glad I did for other reasons. But Steyn/Goldberg/Long was the catalyst.

I joined for exactly the same reason, James! It was a good investment. Join the conversation.

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
Excellent, I listened to first one three times. Mark's bit about having a stage mom reaction to the health class exercise, the riffs on LBJ as Moses, etc, etc.

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
Well, if you re-ordered it as Steyn/Long/Goldberg they could be whatever variant of SLG you can come up with: SLoG (not), SLuG (ask Jonah's couch), SLaG (hmmm... as in heap?). How about GrosSaLuG? One of them is cute enough to qualify. I'll leave it to them to sort out which one!

You guys should keep that picture for the podcast, it's great. Can't come up with a name though.

Borrowing from Rob's celebration of canine military heroics, how about "Three Dogs Right"?

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
I've a tendency not to comment (call me a "lurker" and you all are scary smart) but I have enjoyed the posts and the comments here so much that I finally decided to throw my hat in the ring. I listened to my first podcast yesterday: what a joy. I'll look forward to the SGL podcast - and many more!

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
I protest! I had to pay $2,499 to hang out with Rob, Mark and Jonah on the National Review cruise.
And now you're giving it away for three dollars and fifty-eight cents?

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
Given the demonstrable fact that Jonah Goldberg's laugh sounds exactly like a dolphin, I suggest you name the podcast Flipper and Friends.

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
Thank you, James, and to Kenneth who has now provided me with an earworm: the theme song to "Flipper."

Here's another new member who joined to hear Flipper and friends.
Name suggestions for GSL: How about "Syzygy"? (An alignment of three celestial objects.) Too much? Maybe "Three Athwart"?

Re: Programming Note: The Return of Steyn/Goldberg/Long
Borrowing from Matthew Gilley's inspiration I immediately started thinking about rock trios. Three Dog Night's "Eli's Coming" would make for great theme music. As would Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love". The James Gang's "Funk #49" would be an amusing theme song but somebody would have to change their name to "James" and that would be too much bother.
Thinking about it more: Cream's cover of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" would just rule as a theme song.
