Heads up faithful listeners, this week The Ricochet Podcast will release on Thursday rather than our usual Wednesday. Should be worth the wait though: Mike Murphy and Bill Kristol will be joining us to discuss the week's events.

Just before Paul Ryan was announced, Mike Murphy had tweeted that Ryan would be the wrong choice (or something like that). I'd like to hear about that.

Mr. Murphy is a good talker. He formulates thoughts and ideas in an earnest manner. He speaks with a conviction that seems to inflate his arguments.
But after an hour, I'm hungry again.

Pseudo - In an odd way I miss old Rocky... After he flipped off a reporter when he was Ford's VP I used to hold up my middle finger at someone but keep it bent at the knuckle. When they gave me a puzzled look I just told them I gave them a "half-Nelson."

Murphy has a talent for making bold predictions in both directions, and then declaring victory regardless of outcome. That someone can get paid to do that amazes the heck outta me.

I don't invoke Nelson in a negative way. In Mike Murphy's last jaunt here on Ricochet, his avatar was Mr. Rockefeller in a self acknowledged jab at the wolverines in the cage here on Rico. I got the sense that Mike relishes his role as a Pro Wrestling "heel", so I think the Nelson J Rockefeller podcast title would be a tip of the hat to his schtick.

I don't know why people get upset about Mike Murphy. If you go back and listen to what he said in previous podcasts, he's been freakishly accurate in his predictions. I listen very carefully to what he says now!!

By the way, I'm still giggling at his throwaway line in a podcast long ago asking if the (Charles) Lindbergh terminal In MSP had direct flights to Berlin. Ha!
