Programming Note: No R> Podcast This Week

So there we all were yesterday morning, all ready to record episode 71 of the Ricochet Podcast. We hit the record button and....nothing. No problem, switch to the back up record system! Eh....no dice. So, the upshot is, no podcast this week. But, after 70 consecutive weeks, perhaps we were due for a week off. In any case, we'll be back next week for sure with a new R> Podcast and a bevy of premium podcasts too. We apologize for the inconvenience.

What am I paying this membership fee for? Oh wait, the podcast is free. But still, I'll have to make up my own Tweets instead of ripping off and then distorting podcast quotes. This is gonna get ugly out there. Bottom of the barrel stuff.

I didn't want to hear your stupid podcast anyway!
I propose next time you get a stenographer to do a transcript as back up. Then if the recording doesn't work, have Blue Yeti make one of those bad computer animation movies with the text to speech dialogue from the transcript. Then we could listen to Rob as a computerized British girl.

The photo comes from here: an endless buffet of historical confections called "Shorpy." Bygone times, streetcorner tableaus, magnificent shots of titanic skyscrapers, often with astonishing detail. The proprietor of the site uses Library of Congress material, then applies his own blend of herbs and spices to repair or restore. The commentariat is pretty good, too, sleuthing out the tiny details in the margins of the shots. Worth a bookmark. That's Shorpy.com.
