Taking the plunge will soon cost $3.67

As Peter notes, "Just as Argentina pegs its peso to the dollar, so too does Ricochet peg its price to that of a Starbucks grande latte."

The grim news:  Our reference store -- the flagship Starbucks at Pike Place in Seattle -- has raised its prices from $3.58 to $3.67.  So we'll be following suit, with new monthly Membership dues rising to $3.67 beginning January 1.

The good news:  Members who joined at the $3.58 level won't see their dues go up -- they're locked in at the level in place when they joined. (Just like the $3.47 Members who are still at that level, despite the increase this past April.)

So, if you've been on the fence, you have the rest of the year to sign up at the $3.58 rate. And with the election coming up -- and new features on the way -- what better time to take the plunge?

What about those of us on the (discounted) yearly subscription plan? Annual is (or was) 29.95... is that going up too?

Got in with a yearly membership just in time.

We have no immediate plans to raise the annual Membership fee, although we probably will later in 2012.  Our slavish dedication to the grande latte pricing model is causing us more frequent price hikes than we'd ordinarily countenance.

I was hoping the Keystone pipeline would lower the upward price pressure on black liquid.

As I have noted several times before: if you buy your Ricochet on an annual basis you are not subject to the volatility (good word, huh?) of the coffee market.

Can I buy a bundle & resell 'em for a reasonable rate of return?

I'll donate a share of the proceeds to my favorite coffee picker!

NEW FEATURE PLEASE:  option to view comments with newest at top, rather than bottom (that might cut down on server slowness, too?)

Argentina no longer pegs the peso to the dollar.  Will Ricochet follow suit and let the price of membership float freely?

I make very few smart financial decisions.  (I'm a musician, after all.)  But one smart decision I did make was to jump in early at Ricochet, and pay annually.

Now - if I only knew how to wisely invest all the money I'm saving by paying the original price.

I hear Solyndra is a bargain these days.

I missed joining before the last price increase - wasn't going to make that mistake again.

Looking forward to catching up on all those members-only podcasts!
