President Obama's Group Photo Blunder
A day ahead of the UN General Assembly, President Obama met yesterday with world leaders to launch a new initiative called the Open Government Partnership (OGP), which among other things aims to "promote transparency, fight corruption, empower citizens, and harness the power of new technologies to make the government more effective and accountable."
Another intergovernmental organization. Just what the world needs!
Here's the group photo from the OGP's first conference:
Who's the poor man whose face is obscured by Obama's wandering palm, you ask? That's believed to be Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. Mongolia, it should be noted, is a good friend and ally of the United States, and sent troops to participate in our coalition of forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

More like (CoC violation) Hu.
Just wondering: is it going to be a nod of the head or the full Obama-bow for Mr. Jintao?

Re: President Obama's Group Photo Blunder
Doesn't say much for the professionalism of the photographer.
Maybe he was just so overwhelmed by being waved at.

But you didn't see the next take because it was even more embarrassing...
Re: President Obama's Group Photo Blunder
I agree- first the ocean slowing, then the planet healing, and now the leader obscuring. He's a phenomenon.

I am surprised Obama had all five fingers extended. It is usually only one.

I thought of replying "Go Bears" but after last week how about "Not this again Bears?"
(Another long suffering Bears fan comes out of the closet.)

Re: President Obama's Group Photo Blunder
I had not seen this photo till now, I heard the discussion of it on the radio and thought the hosts were being petty - I don't like the guy either but everyone takes a dopey picture now and then.
Now I see what the big deal was about. That's pretty clueless.

I guess he's not as transparent as he thinks.
