President Misses Another Intelligence Briefing

According to the public schedule of the president, the last time the Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting was Sept. 5 — a week before Islamist radicals stormed our embassy in Cairo and terrorists killed our ambassador to Tripoli. The president was scheduled to hold the intelligence meeting at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the attacks, but it was canceled so that he could comfort grieving employees at the State Department — as well he should. But instead of rescheduling the intelligence briefing for later in the day, Obama apparently chose to skip it altogether and attend a Las Vegas fundraiser for his re-election campaign. One day after a terrorist attack.

It is apparently a point of pride in the White House that Obama’s PDB (Presidential Daily Briefing) is “not briefed to him.” In the eyes of this administration, it is a virtue that the president does not meet every day with senior intelligence officials. This president, you see, does not need briefers. He can forgo his daily intelligence meeting because he is, in [National Security Council spokesman Tommy] Vietor’s words, “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.”
I can't escape this rising sense that our President is a dangerous individual. Either too woefully incompetent to hold office, too self-centered to care about anything other than his re-election, or too apathetic about American interests abroad. (Probably all three.) But dangerous either way.
Am I over-reacting?

Sweezle: No, you are not overreacting. Obama is dangerous because he is stupid. And the MSM continues to cover for him during his campaign trip to Vegas. If these reports from Drudge are true, the story gets much worse.

That story is staggering. Warnings not passed on, sensitive documents, including lists of informants, gone, classified safe houses coming under mortar attack when US personnel arrive. Maybe start attending the PDB instead of reading it on the iPad, Mr. President?

The most telling quote of the day was Obama characterizing Egypt as not allies, not enemies. If there is one crucial fact a president should always be aware of, it is the official diplomatic posture of foreign states. If the alliance is dead, with his hand-picked faction holding all the cards, where is the mastery? And why the $1.5B check? Assure Egypt's military equipment is in good shape for an attack on Israel?
Of course, Obama has no time to meet with Netanyahu, but Morsi is coming next week. Will Qaradawi come with?

The White House is denying that they were ever warned about any impending attack.
I suppose those warnings were part of the intelligence briefings that Obama absorbed from the air by osmosis.
