There are a lot of attractive candidates on our side who might run for president. I'm a Mitch Daniels man, myself.

But does anyone doubt that a President Chris Christie would be....at the very least a huge amount of fun?

At the risk of running afoul of the ricochet Code of Conduct, I'll quote Dale Peterson, "I like ole Big Boy."

Rob, I love this guy. I don't know as much as I should about his overall positions and his record, but he's a walking soundbite.

My favorite Christie characteristic is his ebullient manner in turning the tables on the opposition. The teachers' union--heck, the average Republican--is so used to seeing fiscal conservatives reacting from a defensive crouch that I'm sure the New Jersey liberal playbook is undergoing a furious rewrite about now.

He would be fun in DC, but I want him in Joisey.

Wait a second. He's pro-life, fairly socially conservative, and fiscally conservative.

He must have been unelectable in the Northeast.

I don't want to add a serious note to an otherwise funny video, but after watching Christie in a number of these presentations I have only one question: Does anyone doubt that when voters are told the truth in plain and direct language they will respond appropriately?

Oh, for some "off the cuff" Christie, check this out. I've watched it twice, I'm so enamored of the guy. Personally, I'd vote for a Christie/Rhee ticket any day.

No, he was a great candidate who had a track record of combating corruption without questions about his personal ethics and background. He is exactly the kind of candidate Republicans of all stripes should be looking for to nominate for office.

I love his sense of humor and plainspokenness that cuts through much of the political spin we're so used to. I'd love to see him stick around to change NJ, but we could really use him in the White House.

I'd vote for Christie if his running mate were a fence post!

He has a heroic streak of courage, civic sense, skill, honesty, and sense of humor. A national treasure, the man is.

When I talk about most Republican pols I sound like a Michigander talking about the Lions. When I talk about Christie, I sound like a Packers fan talking about Lombardi.

I probably shouldn't go here, but Steve Lonegan was the "pure" one in the primary, and, since, he's been pathetically dismissing Christie as "acquiescent to big government."

NJ Republicans voted for the more moderate candidate, and with fantastic results.

Just sayin'.

Can you imagine a Chris Christie vs. Barack Obama debate? You know where my money would be.

I really resent this, Rob.

I think we're all missing the point here. Big men are the answers to all our nation's problems. Skinny people have only led us astray. That's why the Presidential ticket we all need to back in 2012 is none other than that of Chris Christie/Haley Barbour.

Christie's just great. Gotta love him. I think Michael Medved said something like, "Big Man, Thin Government" or something to that effect. I really wish more politicians talked like this. None of this nebulous, professorial mush, but REAL straight talk.

Impressive. I like how he paused at the very beginning to call that woman out on her behavior. That not only discouraged similar behavior. The woman probably paid closer attention to his arguments, too (even though she was obviously resistant to them).

Whomever we elect, I hope they have courage like that.

"Skinny people have only led us astray" is perhaps the most exquisite and starkly beautiful sentence I've read not written by Nabokov, Babel, Salter, or Waugh.
