Pragmatic Centrist Obama

No, really. It's right there on the front page of the San Jose Mercury News, my new at-a-glance resource for Hope and Change 2012 theme of the day.
In case you can't see it, the sub-headline reads, "Obama stakes out pragmatic centrist stance in push to get conservatives, liberals to agree."

Re: Pragmatic Centrist Obama
You have picked a good resource. In their own little way, the San Jose Mercury News competes with the New York Times on doctrinaire.

Right next to a 3-column, above the fold, puppy-hugging government dog catcher, our tax dollars hard at work.
Uh-oh. I just ranted about media bias and taxes in the same sentence. Soon I''ll be sporting a tricorn.
Forsooth!
*Correction*
He is not a dog catcher. It is puppies for prisoners, or prisoners training puppies, or something warm and fuzzy involving both.

I am just wondering how to conflate your post of the front page of the San Jose Mercury News with Claire's following post with the front page of the News of the World. Are they equivalent in term of news worthiness and veracity? Inquiring minds are curious....

Thanks! If most Americans didn't prefer TV for news (or no news at all), that would be a great way to get a daily summary of competing narratives and information filtering. Even so, I'm sure that link could come in handy.

Rejected subheadlines:
Obama kisses baby, pets puppy, en route to buy ice cream for local children and balance federal budget
Wise President unites country, will fix economy, solve unemployment after delivering flowers to your grandmother
Wave of good feeling spreads over Americans as Obama smiles, extends arms above head in two-handed wave to crowd, ushers in new age of prosperity

Re: Pragmatic Centrist Obama
Actually, the News of the World was generally accurate (e.g. the cover on Claire's piece, even though the F1 boss sued em and won, on the basis of a violation of his privacy, if I recall).
The problem with the US lamestream media is totally different - they are so far to the left that they consider normal people like us to be far-right.
Their piece, here, is just a repetition of Mr Obama's centrist posture in 2008 - if Mr Brooks and the American people fall for that again, I will believe Mr Murphy. We could call it Murphy's Law...

Was that dog on the left side in jail or something ... what could a dog do to get sentenced to jail... and why would a convict dog make friends with someone in prison...?
Oh I'm sorry, is Obama saying something?
