The New Republic's latest cover makes the bold allegation that Republicans are the party of white people.
That contention might provoke less levity if the New Republic had ever had an editor who wasn't white.
As curated over at Twitchy, Ace of Spades made this observation:

Thanks, Judith. Ace is very good in general, but here he's en fuego.
TNR will be fixing this 99-year oversight any minute now. Jayson Blair might be available. Maybe they could give Rev. Al a byline.

This is the magazine that's being propped up by the private investments of a former Facebook exec, right?
So, a bit of over-the-top controversy that sells might just be what the doctor ordered.

One of the commeners on the ace of spades article says that TNR is going to give Elizabeth Warren a monthly column to help address the problem. Hilarious

They always "accuse" the Republican party of being too white as if:
a. it is only the Republican party's fault,
b. as if the Democratic party hasn't done anything to cause it,
c. as if the Democratic party is not mostly run by whites,
d. as if Obama's not half white and doesn't have the values of a liberal white guy,
and e. as if it is necessarily a bad thing. as if something being mostly white means it has evil plans for non-mostly-white things.
