I flipped on the TV for a minute this morning, looking for a U.S. Open update, and stumbled on Obama's presser. Two minutes of class-warfare blather ("raise taxes on millionaires..."), which was all I could stomach, has put me in a surly mood. So in that spirit, a completely unscientific poll question for Ricochet members: Who most deserves to lose on November 2? If God gave you the gift of naming three candidates who could plausibly lose (i.e., excluding, say, Nancy Pelosi), whose loss you could guarantee, who would they be?

Did I just imagine it, or did the President say that we needn't worry about giving KSM a civilian trial, because he's definitely guilty? Harvard Law School must be so proud.

I cannot live in a world where Nancy Pelosi cannot "plausibly" lose. I need to hold onto that possibility. I need to know it could happen. And it could, too.

Sans Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, and Charlie Rangel.

We don't have Kennedy and Murtha to kick around anymore (may they rest in peace). Although my beef against Murtha doesn't rise anywhere close to the levels I have with those above.

Do they have to be running this year? I personally dream of Tom Harkin's ouster. I wouldn't miss Dick Durbin much either.

But Steve, let me ask you: what do you think about a Ricochet pool? Like March Madness but, you know, for the future of the country?

Rob -- I like it. Maybe for the Senate? Wonder if there's any way to rig something up on line?

No takers on Alan Grayson? Sure, he's a small fish, and he'd still make third-grade jokes with Olbermann after he lost, but it would bring me great joy to see him go down. Competitive district, too. Babs "call me, senator" Boxer has got to be high on the list. Now we get to the hard part. Only one slot left, and so many choices. Barney's a solid pick, for the banking thing alone.

I dunno that Pelosi can be defeated directly, but we can be rid of her soon. Hoyer could make his move after the November thumpin, and I doubt she'd want to hang around as a backbencher. As James Taranto would say "Look Out Below!" On the other hand, watching her in that role would produce a lifetime supply of yummy, crunchy schadenfreude. So there's that consideration.

As an Illinoisan, I second the Durbin nomination.

Also, Henry Waxman has got to be the worst human being in the House of Representatives (and that's a horse race). Someone please assure me there's a better than microscopic chance he could be kicked downstairs in November.

Charlie Crist. I would have said Arlen Specter, but he's already obliged us by losing.

I actually live in Barney Frank's district. He is gerrymandered so tight, it will take an act of God- a miracle of biblical proportions- for him to lose. So as to not squander my wishes, I'll go with helping California- Boxer, Maxine Waters (Go Star, go!) and Alan Grayson in Florida.
